ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A man is in jail after leading troopers on a high speed chase through the streets of Albany.

Just before 8 o'clock Friday night Troopers say 20-year-old Nathaniel Robinson didn't stop at the roadblock they were setting up on Gordon Avenue.

He sped through several streets on Albany's south side before troopers ended the chase by using the PIT maneuver just outside Hank Vinson's Meathouse on Martin Luther King Junior Drive.

"After the pit the suspect got out and ran Lt. Buddy Johnson gave chase the suspect was apprehended hiding in a house near the a air conditioner," said Cpl. Kyle Duke, Georgia State Patrol.

State Patrol officers tell us he was drinking and they found marijuana in the car.

Robinson is charged with possession of marijuana under one ounce, driving with a suspended license, slick tires, fleeing and eluding and driving with an open container.
