ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Orthodontists from a south Georgia office are donating money to help local schools.

Dr. Greg Goggans is not only a Douglas orthodontist, but he's also a state Senator.

He says, in the middle of budget cuts we can't depend on the government for everything so he is encouraging the private sector to step up and get involved.

So as a part of Partners in Education Fender-Goggans Orthodontics will donate up 100,000 dollars to the local school system.

"For every person that comes into our office that starts orthodontic treatment in the year 2010, we will turn around and write a check for 100 dollars in that persons name for the school of their choice," said Dr. Greg Goggans.

The program kicks off January 1st. Office employees will soon be visiting local schools informing them of the program.
