ALBANY, GA (WALB) –An Albany man is in jail  charged with raping a five year old girl.

And a relative of the little girl is in trouble, too, for leaving the child in the care of a registered sex offender.

The relative, Callie Howard is charged with reckless conduct. Police say she knew Loyce Harris was a convicted sex offender when she left a little girl in his care.

Dougherty D. A. Greg Edwards said, "You've got a known sex offender. You have small children, vulnerable children, and you give access to these children, you are gong to be held responsible. And that is the lesson that we want to pass on about this whole scenario."

Loyce Harris is in jail charged with rape. Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Callie Howard.
