Still no sign of missing woman

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Still no sign of a missing Lee County woman believed to have jumped off a bridge. Lake Chehaw was dragged Tuesday in the search for 77-year-old Fannie Corley.

She disappeared Christmas Eve.

He car was abandoned on the North Jefferson Street bridge over the Kinchafoonee Creek. Monday, cadaver dogs pinpointed an area on Lake Chehaw, and that's where the search is now focused.

Divers went down, but officials decided it was too dangerous to try again.

"With the temperature of the water, and also the current, it became dangerous for them. Obviously at this point we don't want anybody else to get hurt or injured," said Albany Fire Chief James Carswell.

The D.N.R. rangers also used a high powered sonar to map the bottom of the area, and help in the search, but so far there has been no sign of her.
