A hole in one for St. Teresa's

March 11, 2003

Albany - Some South Georgia students earn thousands of dollars for their school by playing more than 3,000 holes of putt-putt golf. Tuesday, St. Teresa's Catholic School held its second annual putt-putt marathon.

The more holes of golf the children played, the more money they raised for the school. But, the young golfers learned more than putting skills on the tricky course. "This is good exercise for the kids, and they're learning about the angles and the odds of the game in math class," said Physical Education teacher Jackie Martin.

After thousands of putts, the students earned the school about $8,000 dollars.
