ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany young person is giving back to her community through a number of service projects.

16-year-old Jasmine Warren organized this senior fall festival for residents at Albany Health Care.

She's part of Youth in Action for healthy lifestyles.

They try to mobilize young people and adults to participate in various projects.

Saturday residents enjoyed a game of Bingo.

The teenager writes grants to get money to fight youth obesity, and it has since branched off.

"I decided to write a grant to help the teens and youth in Albany so they don't become obese and choose a healthier lifestyle, now I decided to write grants to go back to my community," said Jasmine' Warren, Youth in Action for Healthy Lifestyles.

The young people received a Disney mini-grant for 500 dollars for this project.
