ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  If you plan to travel during the holidays, you better make sure your car is good to go.

88 percent of holiday travelers will travel by car this holiday season. Before you hit the road,  mechanics at Gieryics Service Station say you should check your tire pressure and antifreeze.

Your coolant which should be relatively clear. To make sure your tires have enough tread, use the penny test. Turn it upside down. If you can see past the top of Lincoln's head, you need new tires.

"It's a bad feeling when your car is down and a lot of it can be prevented by having them checked before getting on the road," said Tom Gieryic-service professional.
