Georgia schools go back to ITBS test

March 11, 2003

Albany- School systems will go back to administering the ITBS, or Iowa Test of Basic Skills. The state board decided to drop the Stanford Nine after two years of scoring problems.

Dougherty County School Superintendent Sally Whatley says the test will be administered to 3rd, 5th, and 8th graders this Spring.

The state's schools stopped giving the ITBS in 2000, primarily because the Standford Nine was less expensive.
