Americus-- He's class president, homecoming king, peer leader, and honor student. For all that, a Georgia Southwestern University student is singled out as the best in the state.

Senior Larry Brown was named the "Student of the Year" by the Georgia Residence Hall Organization. He beat out exceptional student leaders from Georgia colleges and universities.

That's a feat Brown was not sure he would accomplish, "After putting the nomination together, I thought I have some credible stuff, maybe I will have a chance."

Brown gets to compete against winners from the Southeast for the regional "Student of the Year."
