Albany - We saw something on Monday we haven't seen much of in ten days - the Sun. Six inches of rain has fallen in parts of Southwest Georgia since the beginning of the month.

A severe case of cabin fever sent many people running outdoors to enjoy the nice weather. The ducks at Lake Loretta on Dawson Road where happy to see the sun come out because nice weather brings out food-throwing visitors.

"I was glad to bring my children outdoors," said Ginger Karrick. "They were getting restless playing inside for days."

Honeycomb, Daniel Tinney's golden retriever, was eager to run around the lake and eye the ducks swimming nearby.

Some of those who had to go to work enjoyed lunch outside. "It's been rainy for so long that I just had to spend some time in the sun," said Matt Fuller as he sat on the porch at Corner Cafe.

The sun is here to stay for at least two days, if only the nice weather could have made its way to south Georgia before the weekend ended.
