
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The Valdosta Wildcats are close to naming a new head football coach. According to sources Rance Gillespie is the top candidate for the job and will be recommended to the school board at a meeting Wednesday night. Gillespe spent the last three years serving as offensive coordinator at Georgia Southern on Chris Hatcher's staff. Before heading to Georgia Southern Gillespe compiled a 65-16 record as head coach at Peach County leading the Trojans to State Championships in 2005 and 2006.
