LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) – A brave burglary victim caught two crooks in the act and then helped officers capture them.
A little after 2 o'clock Monday, Grant Akridge and his daughter returned to their Lee County home on Murphy Road. They found two men collecting valuables near the front door, including four guns.
The burglars ran out of the house and jumped into a get-away car. Akridge followed them and called 911.
The Lee County Sheriff and Lee and Terrell County deputies, along with State Troopers, all converged on the car on Highway 32. This is cell-phone video of the take-down from a witness.
18-year-old Kelly Wayne Cox and 19-year-old Vassan Chase Roe are both charged with burglary. Roe is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon because he had brass knuckles on him.
A 16-year-old girl who was driving the get-away driver is also charged with burglary.
