COLQUITT COUNTY, GA (WALB) – A Colquitt County man was found dead outside his house early Friday afternoon, the GBI have charged a man with the murder.

The man who was killed was 56-year-old Brett DeMott.

A friend of the family found DeMott on the back porch of his house. Investigators say he was killed early this morning, but not found until noon.

The house is on Highway 133 North behind DeMott Peanut Company, which his brother owns.

Investigators won't tell us how he died, they have arrested 49-year-old Ronnie Bryant.

He's charged with murder.

DeMott's body will be sent to the crime lab in Atlanta. The GBI is assisting the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office with the investigation.
