March 7, 2003 TIFTON - Today rain put a damper on ceremonies planned  to dedicate 3 blue star memorials in Tifton.

The markers are now standing as a reminder of everyone who has served, or is currently serving, in the U.S. Armed forces.

One blue star memorial lines Highway 75 in Tifton. The others are at the Agrirama and the American Legion Post.

The Garden club started erecting blue star markers in 1946. The blue star was a popular window decoration of patriotism in World War 2.
