ALBANY, GA (WALB) – About half the people who live in Hudson Malone towers are back home tonight after Monday's fire. It will still be a while before others can return.

Wednesday, the electricity is back on in the building and folks on the East side can move back in. We caught back up with Pat Landin as she was reunited with her puppy Milti who woke her during the fire. He got her attention and Landin was able to get out of the building with the assistance of firefighters who carried her down five flights of stairs.

She said, "He's a very brave dog, I think and I think he's going to be happy to see his friends. I'm going to give him some extra kibble today, I think." Some people on the West side of the building will be out between seven days and several weeks while water damage is repaired.

For more information, you can call the Housing Authority. That number is 438-2365.
