New release from Jack Kingston's Office
WASHINGTON, DC – The City of Ray City is set to receive $175,000 in federal funding thanks to the efforts of Congressman Jack Kingston (R-GA). The funds will provide for streetscape improvements to enhance safety and help spur economic development.
"We all know South Georgia's a great place to live," said Congressman Kingston, "but to keep growing, we've got to invest in our cities and maintain our infrastructure. This investment will pay dividends for years to come as we attract new residents and new businesses."
The funds will be used to help spur economic development and increase safety as well as accessibility in downtown Ray City. Planned projects include a pedestrian bridge, improved lighting and sidewalk improvements.
"I have had the pleasure of working with Congressman Kingston for several years, and I can honestly say that he doesn't give up, until he has accomplished the mission," said Mayor Carl L. Camon. "The City of Ray City and all of its citizens appreciate the work that Congressman Kingston and his staff have done on behalf of our city in securing this much needed assistance."
The funding for Ray City have now been approved by both the House and Senate and now await the President's signature
