South Georgia police department receives life-saving equipment

March 7, 2003

Lake Park - A South Georgia police department welcomed some new life saving equipment.

The Georgia Fraternal Order of Police presented the Lake Park Police Department with their first ever bulletproof vests. Officers say the new equipment will allow them to perform their jobs with more confidence.

"Now, when we're going into an unknown situation, we'll feel much better knowing we're protected," said Chief Bert Rutland.

The department received one vest for each of their three police officers.
