ALBANY, GA (WALB) – More families will have food on their tables this holiday season thanks to the generosity of WALB viewers.

Tuesday was the final day of WALB's Feed the Hungry food drive to benefit the Salvation Army. Harvey's customers helped fill the van by purchasing pre-filled boxes of non perishable food items.

Claud Harrold said, "When you see people's eyes light up a little bit because they are sitting there thinking there's not going to be a Christmas at all and they're struggling and having problems and they seem to be very well appreciative of everything they get."

During this food drive, WALB collected about 2,000 pounds of food that will be delivered to the Salvation Army.
