Albany - You can see an unusual exhibit of Silver-point painting at the Albany Museum of Art. |
Jeannine Cook uses actual silver in her works. Originally from east Africa, she now lives in Macintosh County. She says Georgia's coast gives her inspiration.
"It echoes Africa a little on the coast there with a wide sweep of the ocean in the distance and the marshes in the foreground, so it sorta feels like home from Africa, too," she said.
Cook says only about 50 artists nationwide use the silver point technique. It was originally used by monks during the 12th century but has been re-discovered in the last 100-years.
