(Macon-AP) -- Four different players scored in double figures and Mitchell-Baker roared out to a big first-half lead in a 96-to-62 win over Apalachee in a Class AA boys state semifinal tonight.
Mitchell-Baker (27-4) advances to Saturday's state championship game at 4:45pm where the Eagles will play Decatur.
The Eagles, playing in their eighth straight final four, return to the AA championship game for the first time since 2000 when Mitchell-Baker won their third state title.
Mitchell-Baker played in the AAA classification in the last two years where they lost to Westover in the state finals in 2001 and were beaten by Cross Keys in last years AAA title game.
Eddie Dawson scored 16 points, B.J. Jones 15 and Eddie Jenkins 14 for the Eagles, who have won five state titles since 1990.
They led 58-30 at the half and played their bench most of the second half.
Scott Hopkins scored 13 points and Tyler Whatley 12 for Apalachee (22-10), which in its third year of existence made its first appearance in the state semifinals.
