ALBANY, GA (WALB) –An Albany family is pleading for your help. They hope someone will come forward to help police solve the murder case of their family member.

45-year-old Gayle Jackson was shot in the back on South McKinley Street early Thanksgiving morning. Her body was found next to a dumpster behind the Whitney Food Mart.

So far there have been no arrests in the case. Now Jackson's family has a plea for anyone who may have seen or heard anything. Her niece made this plea Monday afternoon.

"It's very hard for our family to just go on with our lives with this. She was loved and she was a beautiful, intelligent person and we miss her. We just want justice and peace for our family. That's all we want," said Jackson's niece Latonya Weaver.

Jackson was hearing impaired and frequently hung out in the South McKinley area. Police say they're sure someone has information that will help them in the case.

They're urging anyone who may have been in the area, despite the circumstances, to not be afraid to come forward.

You could receive a big reward. Call Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS with information.
