Albany--  Downtown Albany was at a standstill this morning as power crews tried to restore electricity.

It didn't last long though--about 200 customers were without power for thirty minutes. One downtown business owner, architect David Mashke, helped direct traffic on Front Street while the traffic lights were out, "They had people, or course, who weren't aware of what happened, so drivers were coming down Pine turning on Front Steet so I grabbed a few cones and directed traffic so they wouldn't block emergency vehicles."

Water, Gas and Light workers isolated the area where the power line was cut. They worked quickly, restoring power by 10:24 a.m.
