ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Albany will get to show off the improvements made downtown when a busload of developers and investors tour south Georgia cities this spring.

Representatives from the Georgia Cities Foundation met with downtown Albany leaders at the Bridgehouse Wednesday to discuss the tour. The stop in Albany is expected to showcase places like the Flint Riverquarium and Riverfront Park.

The trip will include Economic Development Officials, members of the Municipal Association, developers, and philanthropic organizations that might eventually invest in Albany.

"To showcase their downtown successes, and it could be buildings, it could be public investment, it could be private investments, it could be public private investments, streetscape projects, building rehabs, infill projects, you've got a very nice downtown hotel here that's relatively new," said Perry Hiott, Managing Director.

Albany will be the fourth stop and an overnight stay on the nine city tour that will also include Americus, Moultrie, Thomasville, Valdosta, Tifton, and Cordele.
