ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Albany State University hopes to help students achieve more than good grades. They want them to have good homes.

ASU's Early Learning Center hosted a Financial Management Forum Tuesday night to put people on the road to home ownership.

A representative from the city of Albany talked about the housing resources and opportunities available along with tips on managing a budget.

"Graduation for the university is this Saturday and a lot of those students will be staying here in the community. Most of them have been renters for two or three years and so we were hoping that they would take advantage of this opportunity tonight to see how they can become first-time homeowners also," said Jeannette Lucas, ASU Early Learning Center Director.

The Early Learning Center hopes to get more turnout as they host regular housing forums.
