CLIMAX,  GA (WALB) – The Mayor of Climax was seriously injured in a car crash Monday. 66-year-old Mayor Liz Phillips ran a stop sign at the intersection of Trinity and Open Pond Road and was broad sided by a pickup truck.

She was seriously injured and is in ICU at Archbold Hospital. The driver of the pickup, 17-year-old Cody Crosson was not injured.

Mayor Phillips was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
