A dramatic rescue Monday night, atop a south Georgia water tower. Three men were sandblasting the inside of the drained tank in Clinch County when something went wrong.
Three workers fell from a platform into a safety net inside the tank in Homerville about 5:20 Monday night.
Multiple agencies rushed to the scene, including Valdosta and Lowndes County firefighters who are specially trained for this kind of rescue.
They pulled 24-year old Jose Suarez Torres out about 8:45. He had a broken arm. A second worker was rescued uninjured about 15 minutes later. 32-year old Miguel Moreno was rescued about 9:15. He suffered broken ribs.
The men worked for a utility service from Perry.
One first responder says one of the men apparently lost his balance and that caused all three to fall.
