ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Hundreds got up early Saturday morning for a holiday tradition.

To promote healthy individuals Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital's HealthWorks kicked off the 2009 Jingle Bell Jog.

Participants chose either a 10K or 5K run, or a one mile fun walk.

More than 600 people participated, the run raises money for a good cause.

"This is our 22nd Jingle Bell Jog and we raise money for the Children's Miracle Network to be use right here in Albany on inpatient and outpatient services," said Melissa Grubbs, Phoebe Healthworks Program Coordinator.

The Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America.
