ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Facing death. It isn't something we like to think about, but it is something some south Georgians are dealing with right now.

During the holidays, the simple things can lift their spirits and put hope back into their hearts.

On Wednesday a special party put many south Georgia hospice patients in holiday spirit.

Longhorn Steakhouse hosted their annual party for patients. Employees catered a meal befitting any paying customer at their restaurant.

"It's kind of our way of giving back to the community especially at this time of the year, these are some special people and it's something we felt we needed to do," said Sam DeVaughn Jr., Longhorn Steakhouse Managing Partner.

This is the 4th year Longhorn Steakhouse has sponsored the Christmas party for hospice patients in a 14 county area.
