ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Wind gust near 30-miles per hour and heavy rain combined to topple a large decaying tree across Edgewood Lane in Albany.

The tree fell from the Dollar General parking lot toward Kimbrell-Stern Funeral home. It blocked all of Edgewood Lane near the intersection with Dawson Road.

Public Works crews quickly responded and cut up and hauled away the tree. Dollar General's power was out for a short time after the tree fell.
