Valdosta - Some South Georgians are working together to eliminate homelessness.
Representatives from shelters all over the region have formed the South Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness. One of the group's main goals is to implement a 2-1-1 system in South Georgia, a universal number that allows people fast access to health and human services.
"It's a one-stop shop that helps provide people with the services they need to start solving issues in their lives," said Karen Costlow-Nolan, Coalition Director.
The 2-1-1 system should be set up by spring.
Coalition meetings are the first Monday of each month and are open to the public.
