ALBANY, GA (WALB) –The Dougherty District Attorney's Office has sent a Governor's Warrant to North Carolina officials asking for the immediate extradition of the former downtown manager's wife.

Prosecutors want 33-year old Shanon Buie brought to Dougherty County as soon as possible.

In October she was indicted on three counts of theft by receiving stolen property and one count of conspiracy to defraud.

Buie turned herself into Cumberland County, North Carolina authorities and was released on bond.

A judge still hasn't decided whether Don Buie will be tried in Albany.

His lawyer asked for a change of venue because of pre-trial publicity.

He's accused of the theft of thousands of dollars of public money.

Prosecutors had no comment on why they wanted Shanon Buie returned so quickly, but they say they are planning to begin Don Buie's trial December 14th.
