ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Nearly 200 disturbing sexual images found on an Albany man's blackberry led to 176 counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
Investigators say 28-year-old Ricky Randle was already in jail on child molestation charges for an incident with a four year old girl when the allegations surfaced. Now he's facing charges in both Dougherty and Mitchell County including rape.
This blackberry seems harmless enough lying on the desk, but investigators say what Ricky Randle did with the device was far from innocent.
"Most of the images appear to be from the Internet but we were able to identify at least two of the females from the photos as being from southwest Georgia," said Inv. Jason Armstrong, Dougherty District Attorney's Office.
Randle now faces 176 warrants, one for each sexual image his girlfriend found on the phone. Some images date back to 2005. Mitchell County investigators also got a call from the family of a four year old.
"They're four year old daughter came to them and told them Ricky had touched her inappropriately," said Inv. Kevin Sellers of the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office.
Randle had been staying with the family and is now charged with rape. "In Mitchell County, he took pictures of himself with this child," said Sellers.
Family friend Regina Jay also faces one count of sexual exploitation of a child for allowing Randle access to a six year old girl, and they're investigating an incident at the America's Best Value Inn. Investigators worry there could be more victims out there.
"They just didn't start at age 28, usually they've been doing this for a while and there's multiple victims out there," said Armstrong.
They urge families who've had contact with Ricky Randle to talk with their children and if they mention anything suspicious to contact the District Attorney's Office.
Investigators say Ricky Randle's address is listed as Sylvester, but he had been staying with friends in both Dougherty and Mitchell Counties. He is being held without bond in the Dougherty County Jail and was officially charged Monday in Mitchell County.
