Americus- A fallen tree puts about four hundred Americus residents in the dark.

Around eleven Sunday morning, a huge tree knocked down several power lines causing homes and businesses to lose power. Georgia Southwestern State University buildings were also affected.

The tree and power lines fell onto Lou Chase's yard, and she says the power outage has created major problems for many people in Americus.

Chase adds, "The pole was just replaced not long ago, then this happens. I hope they send out enough crews to clean up this mess."

By noon, only fifty residents were without power. Georgia Power workers hope to have all problems fixed by Sunday evening.
