THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The Thomas County Central football team will host Sandy Creek Friday night in the quarter-finals of the state playoffs.

Thomas County Central is coming off its' most convincing win of the year, a 56-7 blowout of Richmond Academy. After struggling for a victory in the first round of the playoffs, Yellow Jackets head coach Bill Shaver says it's good to see his team dominating every aspect of the game during the most important time of the season.

"Last week we kind of got back to the way we were against Westside and kind of kicked it back in but our defense has been solid all year but I feel like the kids have improved every week" said Shaver.

Last week Sandy Creek scored all 17 of its' points off special teams.

"we emphasize our special teams a lot. We spend a good bit of our practice time every week trying to work on our special teams. You know we've got a good punter and good kicker and they do too" said Shaver.

Kick off is at 8:00 Friday at the Jackets Nest in Thomasville.
