ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A small grow house operation is busted in Dougherty County, but Cops are more concerned about an assault-type weapon found in the house.
The Smith and Wesson A.R. 15, a powerful semi-automatic weapon that S.W.A.T. officers use, was found in the grow house operation.
23-year-old Wiley Reiser and 24-year-old Carolyn Morrison were arrested and charged with marijuana possession. Saturday Dougherty County Police were investigating shots fired in the neighborhood when they smelled marijuana.
A search inside the home found six plants, a grow light, and a number of bongs and burning marijuana. Reiser said he bought the rifle and 30 shot clip from a teenager.
"From what we understand it was purchased from a 15-year-old," said A.D.D.U. Commander Major Bill Berry. "We have contacted A.T.F. and they are following up on the transaction and the weapon itself, and will continue to investigate it's origin."
Reiser and Morrison are being held in the Dougherty County jail.
