ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany man was caught red-handed stealing from an East Albany church.
51-year old Jack Crews is charged with 2nd degree criminal damage.
Police say a motorist saw him walking behind the Glorious Church of Jesus Christ on Sylvester Road Sunday night and called police.
There has been a rash of air conditioner thefts at church's in East Albany. Officers found the air conditioner behind the church badly damaged, and they found tools on Crews. Police are investigating to see if Crews is involved in other recent metal thefts.
