ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  After running into roadblocks with enrollment, a girl who was homeless spent her first full day in class Monday, and a good Samaritan is making sure she's dressed for success.

Winterset Tyler hugged Shannon McGuire as she handed over a book bag filled with gently used uniforms her daughter has outgrown. She saw our story about McGuire's struggle to get her daughter Anne enrolled in classes and felt she needed to help the family.

"I just felt the need to. I saw it on TV and normally I don't look at the 6:00 news, I watch from 5:00 to 5:30, that's all I look at but for some reason I just walked to the living room and turned the TV on," said Winterset Tyler, a good Samaritan.

Tyler's daughter also put some paper and pencils in the backpack so Anne would have some of the supplies she needs. Anne attended her first day of third grade at North side Elementary. Her mother said the community's generosity has made her more thankful this holiday.
