ALBANY, GA (WALB) –The head of the Fitzgerald housing authority is in critical condition tonight after she fell from a deer stand.
A little before dark Wednesday Lynn Sandiford fell nearly 30-feet from a stand off Bethlehem Church Road.
We're told Sandiford had a stroke in the stand and that caused her to fall.
She was airlifted to Macon with serious head injuries.
"It's not uncommon for people to fall from tree stands they do sell harnesses and you can actually take and put non the harness and strap yourself to the tree and its actually recommended," said Patrick Hogan, Investigator with Ben Hill County Sheriff's Office.
