Lowndes County - More troops are deploying to the Middle East.

A contingent of airmen from 10 different U.S. Air Force Bases left Moody Thursday. They are from a mix of units and will be responsible for aircraft maintenance, logistics, and airfield management.

This will be many of the airmen's first deployment. "I'm nervous because I've never been before, but I know this is the best solution to what's going on overseas right now," said Lt. Chris Booth.

The airmen left on a C-17 aircraft. They should arrive in the Middle East in about 24 hours.
