Leesburg-- A Lee County student is being featured on a state-wide television program. Lee County High School student Nathan Bateman was picked as this week's Scholar-Athlete on the GPTV show "Prep Sports Plus."

The football star has a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

Bateman says he's not sure how to handle all the attention. "I don't dislike it-- I don't mind it that's for sure. I like getting the awards and stuff. It's an honor."

Bateman has earned many awards and honors, including a $1,000 scholarship for being named the College Football Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete.

The feature on Bateman airs Friday night at 7:30 on GPTV, and again Saturday at 6:30.
