ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The longer you wait to ship a Christmas package to a loved serving in the military overseas, the more you'll spend. UPS in Albany says now is the calm before the storm of holiday shipments, so you should take care of your international shipments soon.
If you wait until the last minute, you'll have to pay big bucks to get it there on time. Donnie Lavvorn said, "You've missed the early shipments. That was in November. Military and international, if you want it cheap, usually in the month of November."
The deadline to ship to Iraq or Afghanistan by Priority mail is the 11th of December. For Express mail, it's December 22nd, but that could end up costing you hundreds of dollars.
