Albany- Westover high has never played Washington County in basketball, but the Patriots are very aware of what they will face today in the state sectionals at Augusta State.

Westover Coach Dallis Smith prepared his squad for the relentless full court press that first Year Washington County Coach Rufus McDuffie used to win five state AA titles at Mitchell-Baker. Westover faced the Mitchell-baker press quite a bit when the two teams were region rivals the last two seasons.

In fact, Smith believes his squad plays its best in the fast paced tempo that dictated by coach McDuffie's press. "At this point anybody can beat you," Smith said.

Westover and Washington County play at 5:30 today in Augusta.

The Lady Patriots will Friday at four against Peach County in the AAA south sectionals at Augusta State.

The AA south sectionals will be at the Albany Civic Center Thursday through Saturday.
