NICEVILLE, FL (WALB) - Former Dougherty High star Brian Bryant has signed a basketball scholarship at Mississippi State University.
Bryant is playing his sophomore season at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville which used to be called Okaloosa-Walton.
Bryant is averaging 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists though five games this season.
A press release from Mississippi State sports information quotes Brian as saying he believes the Bulldogs are great fit and he has a chance to replace senior guard Barry Stewart next season.
Mississippi State head coach Rick Stansbury loves Bryant's athletic ability and also being able to play several positions.
Stansbury believes the junior college transfer will not have a problem adjusting to the Southeastern Conference.
