Lee County, GA (WALB) – There was an aroma of burnt chicken nuggets in the air Wednesday morning after trailer filled with chicken nugget dust caught fire.

Around 7:30 the driver of an American Protein’s rig pulled into the parking lot of American Outdoors on Highway 82 where a number of commuters saw the flames shooting from the trailer and called 911.

Lee County fire fighters quickly got the sparking blaze under control and no damage was done the truck or the trailer.

The load of chicken nugget dust or “nugget breading”, was being hauled to Randolph County.

But to all those nugget lovers out there, don’t worry, the burnt load was not edible and was on its way to be disposed of.

Still no word on what sparked the flames.
