Thomas County - More than two weeks ago an unusual piece of plastic was found in Thomas County that could be linked to the Columbia Shuttle explosion. However, Thomas County Sheriff Investigators are still waiting on the Environmental Protection Agency to pick up the evidence.

Investigators sent digital pictures of the melted plastic piece to NASA. They told them to tag it as evidence. The piece was found on Longpine Plantation in the Southern part of Thomas County.

Georgia Emergency Management Agency officials say a piece of possible insulation that could be linked to the shuttle was also found in Randolph County. They too sent digital pictures to NASA.
