Grady County-- A South Georgia school teacher and former drug agent is accused of molesting a 10-year-old girl. Investigators say the girl was molested when she spent the night with one of Peter Denton's children.
Thirty-nine-year-old Peter Denton is accused of molesting the little girl who was at his house for a sleep over in January. The 10-year old girl told her family 11 days later. "The alleged incident reported on January 14th," said Investigator Jimmie Scarbrough.
Denton taught migrant students at several schools in Grady County. His office was at Washington Middle School. This was his first year teaching.
Denton is accused of molesting the 10-year-old girl here inside his home near Whigham. She was spending the night with one of his kids. "It's a sad situation we have to deal with stuff like this in society. A sad situation somebody has to go through something like this," said Scarbrough.
Denton is also a former drug agent for the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office. Peter Denton's bond at the Grady County Jail was set at $7,500.
