Albany-- Energy use is up, and so is Water, Gas and Light's bottom line.The coldest winter in recent years has bolstered energy use.
So far in this fiscal year, WG&L's revenues are ahead of expectations by $1.9 million.
The company plans to reserve this excess money. "We have had to draw down our reserves last past years," said WG&L Fiscal Affairs chief John Vansant. "Last year finished under budget same amount so really catching up from prior under budget years."
In seven months, WG&L has taken in about eight million dollars in utility revenues.
