ALBANY, GA (WALB) –The rash of air conditioner metal thefts in East Albany continues, and this time thieves hit a law enforcement headquarters.

These two air conditioning units behind the Georgia Department of Natural Resources building on Radium Springs Road

were stripped over the weekend.

Monday, Rangers discovered the copper and aluminum coil had been cut out. They say the thieves had to climb over a six foot barbed wire topped fence to steal the metal. It's expected to cost about $8000 to replace the damaged units.
