LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - Young baseball pitchers need to learn warming up in the bullpen is something they should take seriously.
Lee County pitcher Justin McCalvin signed a scholarship with Kennesaw State University Tuesday morning.
Head coach Rob Williams says Kennesaw State began recruiting Justin after watching McCalvin warm up in the bullpen prior to a scrimmage game last season in Columbus.
Justin McCalvin has a 13-2 record in two seasons at Lee County and has posted six complete games in 12 starts.
He chose Kennesaw State because they want him to pitch right away.
McCalvin "I have a good chance to start my freshman and sophomore year. I am kind of excited that I don't have to wait until my junior year to go in and start."
Justin McCalvin has 99 career strikeouts and only 17 walks in 84 innings at Lee County.
