VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) –  Residents at the Hudson Docket apartments describe the shooting like a massacre.

There were at least eleven people on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Some of them were taken to South Georgia medical Center Sunday night.

Nineteen year old Sidney Bivens, Jr. died of gunshots wounds. Ten others are wounded, three are juveniles with non-life-threatening wounds.

Investigators are trying to find a motive in the case, as the search for the shooter or shooters continues.

Evidence markers were placed in the parking lot of the apartment complex showing where people and shell casings fell. “They were like in their early 20’s,” said Chuckie Smith, who witnessed the incident that stated about 6:00 Sunday evening.

“I seen bodies on the ground, and I was shook up, and about to cry, even though I didn't know who they were. I just felt for them.

The victims were rushed to the hospital in Valdosta, where one was pronounced dead. Investigators say they are trying to gather as much information as possible, trying to identify the shooters, and the motive.

“It could have been my child,” who was shot, Smith said. Canine units were called it to assist in the search. So far, no arrests have been made.

The Hudson Dockette apartments are located on South Frye Street in Valdosta. Police say that an argument may have started the shooting. So far, we do not have a description of the shooters.

Valdosta has had several other homicides this year.
